"Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Autumn Grant is ingrained with a healthy and active lifestyle. After graduating high school Autumn spread her wings for her first real adventure to Florence where she spent a year working as an au pair for an Italian family. She spent her time studying the Italian language, fashion and art, frequently visiting local markets and learning to cook the authentic way. Being so enriched in a particular culture, Autumn realized the importance and value of travel. It allowed her to open up and connect with people from all over the world and inspired her like nothing else. Upon her return back to Canada she decided to study International Development Studies and Environment, Sustainability, and Society at Dalhousie University. She was an active member of the student union, Co-Chair of the TOMS@Dal society, and part of the honours thesis class of 2013. However, it was the university summers abroad that Autumn looked forward to most. Between backpacking through Central America and South East Asia, to volunteering in Africa, she took every opportunity to get away as it was a chance to explore a new corner of the world. It’s safe to say she is happiest at the seaside; whether it’s a yoga practice on the beach, a surf session on the water, or a dive to explore the underwater world, the ocean is where you will find Autumn at her finest. "

His first day of school

Just weeks went by since my mother had passed and we decided during our visit here in Nova Scotia as we watched the sunset colours get more vibrant in the distance, almost the same shade of our local red wine from Gaspereau Valley where I grew up, that we would move back home here in Nova Scotia. The race to find the school in mid-August was on. Despite nearby schools, we decided to make a choice to drive them in town to receive a French immersion education.  Our daughter had already received and enjoyed the French immersion in BC where we lived and worked for 10 years.  Our son starting primary, was the most exciting event for a five years old and because he loved preschool in BC, he was excited to make friends in his new environment. RESPECT anti bullying conversation

We don't blame the teachers they are getting bullied themselves. TIME IS UP and We Must SPEAK UP!  I must sound like a mother with a vendetta YES... NO, I do not, I just want to talk because communication is key. We actually talked about it quite a bit to everyone we met and expressed our views, but with so much tension in everyone's response, we just said hey let's adapt and assimilate.  Five years later... We urge the public to get involved and get their children involved in the conversation about bullying in the workplace, schools, and in life in general. Bullying can sometimes also happens at a party or a networking event and even at the grocery store. We all know it happens on Facebook and other social media where we refer to it as cyberbullying.
