A podcast born out of an all too familiar frustration; navigating life as an aspiring creative. How do you pay the bills? How do you grow? How did you get anywhere in this city? Well, Duane Jones, Terrence Taylor, and Pete Hemsworth are set to give you a raw, unfiltered look at their journey. The trio’s new podcast, Changing the Narrative (CTN) seeks to shine a light on life as a creative and provide an open forum for conversation about various topics through their eyes.
This is episode 13 and today is Feb28th Pink Shirt Day and having this day is important, and for one day we can wear pink apparel to stand up against bullies, but bullies are people too right? How did they become bullies? Why and when did they become bullies? Is it stress from family home life? Are their parents struggling with an illness or addiction? Are the children being neglected? Are the parents working hard to survive and pay the bills so they don't have time to be parents? Are parents irresponsible?
How about the adults and seniors being bullied do they ask for it? Why is this dominant behavior so prevalent nowadays?
We dislike social media, but we crave it too. Is the social network media the issue? Are we just saying anything unkind because nobody sees who we are? Nobody feels accountable because nobody knows who you are? What about those people who are blatantly rude? Do we just continually forgive your actions?
We think its great that every news report is about people, women speaking out and talking about things that are so uncomfortable but we feel justified when we see the perpetrators questioned with their heinous acts.
This is an age where you can find solace, comfort, love, and support from your community. When speaking out is ok. Our parents were so old-fashioned that everything was about their reputation and the status must be protected. Now when you are victimized, taken advantage off and mistreated it's no longer taboo, its ok to speak up, stand up and take care of yourself.
