Am I too sensitive? Yes, I do take things personally for example when a person calls you fat to your face or when they laugh, and gossip behind your back and you find out about it, are you telling me you are not offended? Hurt perhaps? That is complete baloney! You hear that you have too much time on your hands and that you always need attention? I have never met anyone that didn't want or need to be noticed, but I hang out with entrepreneurs and artists, so we need to be seen, or the business doesn't work. Also most people I meet come from dysfunctional families, oh and every one of us came from one, whether we like to admit to it or not. I try to incorporate kindness, mindfulness also integrity in everything I do. I am not the type of person who cheats and steals when I know the person needs my help, I am usually the first person to encourage and get people together. I hate drama, but I love it too! As Filipinos, we love our teleserya, and telenovelas (TV Dramas) What is

Photo was taken by +Krista Corcoran This photo was given to us by our good friend for Christmas a few years back. But do you see that they are children and innocent in the ways of the world? They are sweet loving children even our dog is terrific, and I am not just saying that because they are mine. They don't belong to me but they belong to themselves, I always say they belong to me, but really they are not things to be owned. They are my heart and my everything. A few years after this photo is now my daughter attending a different school in the new institution we call junior high. My husband and I are away for our trip to celebrate our 19 years of being together as a couple. We arrive from our trip in the middle of the night, and the children happen to be staying with our family. I sneak in beside my daughter and fall asleep beside her, and within a few minutes of snuggling close to her, I notice she is shivering. Sounds came out of her that I had never heard before, not e

Just weeks went by since my mother had passed and we decided during our visit here in Nova Scotia as we watched the sunset colours get more vibrant in the distance, almost the same shade of our local red wine from Gaspereau Valley where I grew up, that we would move back home here in Nova Scotia. The race to find the school in mid-August was on. Despite nearby schools, we decided to make a choice to drive them in town to receive a French immersion education. Our daughter had already received and enjoyed the French immersion in BC where we lived and worked for 10 years. Our son starting primary, was the most exciting event for a five years old and because he loved preschool in BC, he was excited to make friends in his new environment. Our daughter had a beautiful day full of stories and giggles of new friends. Our son kept his composure until he got in the car. He burst into tears and said it was the worst day and kids made fun of him, called him a girl and no one spoke to

http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/45838.html Don't wait like we did, do something about it! We thought that talking to the teachers and speaking to the principals that we were going to solve our son being bullied at school or our daughter getting a "prank" death threat automated voice phone call. We don't blame the teachers they are getting bullied themselves. TIME IS UP and We Must SPEAK UP! I must sound like a mother with a vendetta YES... NO, I do not, I just want to talk because communication is key. We actually talked about it quite a bit to everyone we met and expressed our views, but with so much tension in everyone's response, we just said hey let's adapt and assimilate. Five years later... We got angry, cried we fought and yelled and distanced ourselves from the nonsense that is archaic in this province. We dared not speak of religion, politics or our views about what we think of this friendly province. And now we were faced with &q

The winter 2016 collection was called "Ode to Nova Scotia," RESPECT NATURE by keikaikoadesigns.com It only feels like that because we were going through some upheaval in our personal lives. This year for 2018 we are calling our collection "RESPECT" this will be about respecting each other as human beings. That no matter what may be the color of your skin, sexual orientation, who you worship and what your gender is, this demands respect, compassion, and understanding. That we are all connected, and we must unite for a better community and life for our future generation. Our collection "RESPECT" will consist of gently used clothing that would otherwise fill the landfill or sit at a thrift store, will be repurposed, up
